Exploring Your Sexual Self
For many people, growing up we received many negative messages about sex and sexuality. Whether that was from our parents, our religious institutions, peers, or even just the media, we were taught that our pleasure was secondary to fulfilling cultural expectations. For many, this messaging is on top of already traumatic sexual experiences. This can lead to feeling alienated from our own bodies, and having confusing relationships to our desires. Along with sexual functioning (such as desire, orgasm, pain etc.), Dr. Goodman specializes in supporting people as they undo the internalized negative messaging and create new ways of being in their body and exploring what sex and sexuality means to them.
